This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Cashier was okay and service was okay. They didn’t tell us how it works so we kind of stood around aimlessly for a bit, but it’s fine. The school portions are huge and they had a fun variety.

Wonderful place to enjoy ice cream with the family. I can't wait to try some of the cheese we purchased also. They keep the line moving quickly and the portions on a cone are way more than expected. The peanut butter marshmallow ice cream was not as sweet or rich as you'd think. The entire family thoroughly enjoyed the stop.

Very good but the base ice cream is a little bit sickeningly sweet. We had the grilled sticky, death by chocolate and alumni swirl. Alumni swirl was my favorite. It was still very sweet but the blueberries toned it down a nice amount. The service is good, they are a well oiled machine and are great at keeping it moving.

Great ice cream as always. They have a good process for moving a lot of people through the line. There were a lot of people in line but it moved quickly. They only have one size to order from, so if you're not very hungry, I recommend sharing. You also can't get a little of more than one flavor. You have to get a BIG dish of only one flavor. We got the Peachy Paterno and the Grilled Stickies. Both were great! We got grilled stickies to go and they heated up perfectly. Parking at the nearby lot is only one dollar, but it fills up quickly. Note that the rows do not lead to one another, so if you get to the end of the row you have to back up to get back out.

While visiting Penn State, we were told that stopping at the Penn State Berkey Creamery was an absolute mustβ€”and it definitely lived up to the recommendation. The ice cream was fantastic: rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can tell right away why it has such a strong reputation among students, alumni, and visitors. 🍦 One thing that caught us off guard is that they don’t really offer multiple portion sizesβ€”it’s essentially one generous serving size for everyone. While that might surprise some people, the quality of the ice cream makes it easy to overlook. The variety of flavors was excellent, and everything was well organized and easy to access even with the steady flow of visitors. If you’re visiting Penn State, this is definitely a stop worth making. Great ice cream, great flavors, and a fun part of the campus experience. πŸ‘
